Priority sites need monitors
« : March 11, 2010, 02:21:35 PM »
The Chicago Wilderness region needs bird monitors at many beautiful and exciting locations. If you know the local birds by sight and sound and want to contribute to conservation, if you have time to visit a site several times a year and report your observations, please look at our current list of high priority sites without monitors.

These are sites where the land manager or steward is eager for input, or where coverage is needed for trends analysis.

Cook County Priority Sites
Bachelor Grove Woods; Baker's Lake; Camp Pine Woods; Camp Sagawau; Dan Ryan Woods; Deer Grove East; Eggers Woods; Indian Boundary Park; Lake Katherine Nature Preserve; Little Red Schoolhouse; Burnham Park, Chicago (McCormick Place to 39th St); Miller Meadow; Orland Grassland; Paul Douglas Forest Preserve; Plum Creek Forest Preserve; Poplar Creek Forest Preserve South; Robinson Woods; Salt Creek Nature Preserve; Sand Ridge Prairie Nature Preserve; Somme Woods; Spring Creek Forest Preserve; Swallow Cliff; The Grove, Glenview; Willow-Sanders; Yankee Woods

Lake County, IL, Priority Sites
Daniel Wright Woods; Ryerson Nature Preserve; Bartlett Ravine (Fort Sheridan FP); Elm Roads Forest Preserve; Ethel's Woods Forest Preserve; Lake Bluff Forest Preserve; Spring Bluff Forest Preserve; Van Patten Woods; Waukegan Savanna Forest Preserve

McHenry County Priority Sites

Information about our workshop schedule is here:  http://ebird.org/content/bcn/news/2010-chicago-region-monitoring-workshops  If you'd like to monitor but can't make a workshop, please let me know.
