Oklahoma may lose an entire generation of songbirds
« : May 30, 2015, 07:54:06 AM »
Millions of young songbirds across Oklahoma are suffering and perishing because, not only are the storms and record rainfall
brutalizing the young birds, the parent birds are unable to find them food.
The Oklahoma storms have washed the insects and caterpillars into the rivers and lakes.
It will be a good year for the fish, not so much for the birds.

Update:
We went into a section of the Cross Timber Forest that has
a dense songbird population.
We put out about 100 mealworms at every high dry bare spot we could find
so that any birds flying by would see them.
Eastern Bluebirds came in before we even drove off. It was good to see the youngster.
We, also, saw Mockingbirds, warblers, Cardinals and a Painted Bunting.
Being seed eaters, the Cardinals and Painted Bunting were certainly feeding babies.
Thanks again for caring, I know we saved some lives with your help.
