http://www.illinoisbirds.org/illinois_rare_bird_alert.htmlWhite-faced Ibis: Winnebag Co (North) - 1 was found in a fluddle northwest of Rockford on 5/8/10 (Barbara Williams). It persisted until 5/9/10. The fluddle is located on Oliver Road west of its intersection with Harrison Road.
Purple Gallinule: Woodford Co (Central) - 1 was found at the Minonk Sewage Treatment Plant on 5/9/10 (Ted Hartlzer). The bird is using a small strip of poor cattail habitat along one of the Sewage Impoundments. This bird can be very difficult to see and special permission is required to access the location.
Piping Plover: Lake Co (North) - 3 have been seen at Waukegan Beach off and on for a couple weeks now. The group was last seen 5/8/10 (Richard Biss, Andy Sigler). One was seen on 5/9/10 (Carolyn Fields).
Western Kingbird: Bureau Co (North) - 1 was seen in a rural area northwest of Princeton on 5/10/10 (Marna Towne). Lake Co (North) - 1 was sighted at the far southwest corner of Cuba Marsh on 5/8/10 (Carolyn Fields). It has not been relocated since.
