LaSalle Co. American Rubyspots + Cobra Clubtails

On a couple of recent canoe trips on the Vermilion River in LaSalle County, I found these two species common.  On 7/10 the river was up and the water rather murky from recent heavy rains.  We had several Cobra Clubtails land on or near the boat and had good looks at them.  This Sunday (7/25), I forgot my binoculars but found ~40 American Rubyspots between Kangley and the Sandy Ford Nature Preserve where we took out.  That is such a gorgeous damselfly.  We also had Illinois River Cruiser Sunday.  Sorry no photos, but I'm not brave enough to take my camera on the river.

On a bird note, I found a Yellow-throated Warbler feeding a juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird at Sandy Ford.
