Klehm Arboretum: (MAP)  South side of Rockford.  From US 20 (bypass) exit N on IL 2 (Main St) about 1.5 miles.  After crossing Harrison Ave., continue N on IL 2 until it goes down a hill, curving to the left, to a stop light at Clifton Ave.  Turn left on Clifton and immediately turn left again into the entrance of Klehm Arboretum.  Admission as of 12/1/07 is $4 per adult.  If no attendant is on duty in the admission kiosk at the entrance, pay in the visitor center. Then walk the figure-8 trail loop.  The arboretum is best in migration and winter, particularly winter.  Lots of fruiting trees attract waxwings and robins, plus accipitors.  On 2 occasions, Townsend's Solitaire's have been found here.
